Statement:

I have been spending more and more time on the west coast of Scotland with Neevon, who I developed this project with. We drew inspiration from its wild and unforgiving coast and its mythology to create a raw and uncompromising story, threaded with themes of family guilt and corporate greed.

This film is also an attempt to build a horror story around the feeling of being chased, whether by something real, a memory, or a truth you cannot escape, as in Cora's case. We hope the found footage style will set the cinematic landscape against the rough immediacy of the format, creating an unsettling and frightening sense of normality.

Scotland's most famous mythological creature is the Loch Ness Monster, yet we want to show that there are other, perhaps more powerful, beings hidden in its folklore. By grounding the story in Scotland's land and legends, my hope is that (S)KIN will not only terrify but also preserve and reimagine myth for a modern audience.
